Re-Introduced Monthly Sanitation Exercise Requires Commitment, Active Participation – Ijede Chairman

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, Chairman, Ijede LCDA, her Vice, Hon. Kareem kabir and other officials of the council engaging stakeholders on the environmental sanitation commencing on Saturday.




‎The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Developmet Area (LCDA), Hon . Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, has stated that the re – introduced monthly sanitation exercise requires total commitment and active participation of every resident of Ijede, to promote sustainable community development.


‎She gave the charged on Thursday, while speaking at the Stakeholders’ Meeting on Reintroduction of Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise at the council Secretariat.


‎Hon.  Gbadebo – Alogba presented the council’s position and the expectation from residents, during the meeting.




‎According to the council, the initiative, which brought together community leaders, market women, youth groups, and residents, is critical to public health and sustainable community development, and that it is aimed at addressing waste management challenges and promotion of a cleaner environment.


‎“This environmental sanitation exercise is not a new concept but a reactivated policy that requires the commitment and active participation of all residents and stakeholders”, the council chairman said.


‎She emphasised that her administration want a cleanet environment in Ijede, and urged market leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that their areas are properly clean.




‎She further announced that the exercise will be held on the last Saturday of every month, between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., commencing on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

‎Also speaking, the Head of Department, Environment, in the council, Mrs. Olorunishola, urged relevant stakeholders and residents to fully comply with the sanitation directive, warning that violators will be penalized in accordance with the law.
